DetailsEssential Functions:
• Develops, reviews, updates, and implements safety policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations and guidelines.
• Manages and ensures DOT program and compliance.
• Manages the drug/alcohol program with primary responsibility for random drug testing and assures compliance with DOT, State and Federal regulations and company policy.
• Conducts on site reviews and audits of transportation business units and facilities. A minimum of 2 business units will be reviewed and audited per month. Identifies and follows up on corrective actions.
• Responds to and/or facilitates the investigation of all serious accidents and injuries.
• Responds and provides assistance to all emergency situations.
• Develops and coordinates accident and incident investigation, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs procedures.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees at various levels of the organization. Develop an annual safety training calendar for weekly and monthly training. Develop and implement regular webinar training for new team members.
• Plan and lead a monthly safety call for all field management.
• Oversee, train and develop field safety representatives.
• Assists in filing insurance claims and resolving insurance claims. Reviews insurance policies to ensure compliance with insurance requirements.
• Periodic audit of third party transporters that are used on a contract basis.
• Manage vehicle and equipment licensing, titling and permitting as appropriate.
• Assist with plant safety and corporate fleet and equipment issues as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
